Oct 7, 2017

From October 5th to 7th, the 6th Central European Congress on Obesity (CECON) and the 15th Slovak Congress on Obesity 2017 took place in Bratislava. This year’s congress followed the successful footsteps of previous meetings, which took place in the Czech Republic (2008), Hungary (2009, 2015), Poland (2011) and Romania (2013).

The congress has offered an excellent scientific program and an opportunity to establish contacts with colleagues across the Central Europe and beyond. The content was mainly focused on state-of-the-art research and current treatment modalities, including lifestyle interventions, metabolic surgery and pharmacotherapy. Meeting provided also maximum opportunity for interaction between delegates to present their findings and to develop collaborations, hopefully leading to new knowledge helpful to the patients. Speakers from all over the Europe and the world performed on the stage. The program was designed to provide a diversity of insights for clinicians, health care practitioners, nutritionists, surgeons, psychologists, physical activity professionals, nurses, pharmacists and researchers who came to Bratislava. Over 200 people attended.

Delegates could also exchange their impressions and experience within the social programme which included a cruise along the Danube River and a lovely dinner hosted at the Bratislava Castle Restaurant with an amazing view of the city.

GUARANT International wins a prestigious event to be hosted in Prague 2021

Apr 18, 2017

Prague has won a very important technological event – the IEEE/IROS Conference which focuses on Intelligent Robots and Systems. It is one of the most prestigious global conferences in the field of robotics. Prague has yet to host an event of such importance in this field; therefore, the city is not only hosting medical congresses and conferences, but will also start to focus on high-tech technology.

The conference creates a platform to spread the latest trends and innovations in robotics and intelligent systems. Together with the conference, a vast exhibition of the latest robotics technologies will take place. More than 3000 participants are expected to attend.

GUARANT International and the client worked hard on the idea of bringing this prestigious event to Prague for more than one year. The challenging preparations included creating a bid, finding and getting support for the candidacy, and also the support of the final selection. At the end of this marathon-like process, Prague was invited to Deajon, South Korea to face London in the final round. Prague won mainly because of the world-renowned Czech client, Dr. Přeučil, as well as the country's open visa policy, safety and security – and let’s not forget the astonishing beauty of Prague. Additionally, the conference would not be held in Prague without the great effort of GI business manager Michal Chmel.

Dr. Libor Přeučil (CIIRC – The Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University in Prague) has been appointed the role of the Czech Ambassador and the IEEE/RSJ will be the foreign organizer.

During the Ambassador Awards Evening organized by the Prague Convention Bureau in mid-April 2017, the Czech client Dr. Přeučil won the Candidacy of the Year 2016 award for getting this prestigious conference to Prague in 2021. Congratulations!

3 Questions Posed To Tomáš Raboch

Sep 29, 2016

Tomas Raboch is currently working at GUARANT International for his thirteenth year. Beginning as an assistant in the sales department, over the years, his work, experience and enthusiasm advanced him to the position of senior Core PCO sales manager, which he has been operating since 2012. Presently within Core PCO services, Tomas is focusing on obtaining long-term clients and taking care of events abroad.

1. What makes Core PCO services unique?

Our Core PCO services allow clients/international associations to fully utilize the potential of their conferences and to plan for more than one conference period. We usually organize a series of three to five congresses for given international associations. Long-term cooperation is linked with knowledge of the specific requirements of clients and allows us to more effectively organize conferences with tailor-made solutions, regardless of the chosen destination.

2. What are you currently working on?

I am delighted that we recently managed to obtain a large event which is taking place in London in 2018. I personally consider this event to be a springboard for long-term cooperation with this client throughout all of Europe. I am also proud that we managed to defeat two competing PCOs based in London. We were also able to help our client secure the biggest medical event that has ever occurred in Bratislava.

3. How do you relax after work?

Of course, like most, I relax by spending time with my family and putting aside any work issues. I also find that sport works wonders. Nowadays, I do so mostly on bikes. I have always loved bicycles and cycling since my childhood. As a little boy I raced in BMX races and was successful enough to be Prague champion multiple times. If time and family permits, I try to ride two or three times a week, and even at night with good lighting. My favorite terrains are around Točná in the southern outskirts of Prague.

Prague Convention Bureau Held An Educational Seminar For Congress Ambassadors

Jan 17, 2016

Author of the article is PCB: http://www.pragueconvention.cz/news/prague-convention-bureau-held-an-educational-seminar-for-congress-ambassadors/

The Prague Convention Bureau has organized a training seminar for congressional ambassadors. Patron of the PCB Ambassador Programme, our client Prof. MD. Julius Špičák, PhD., Head of the Hepatogastroenterology Department of the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague, shared his experience in organizing international congresses and conferences with more than 30 Czech scientists, doctors and other experts.

Next in the series of educational and networking breakfasts within the Prague Convention Bureau Ambassador Programme took place at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague on Wednesday, 13th January, 2016. Patron of the Ambassador Programme Prof. MD. Julius Špičák, PhD, Head of the Hepatogastroenterology Department of the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague shared his experience in organizing international congresses and conferences with more than 30 Czech scientists, doctors, and other experts.

Prof. Špičák began organizing international congresses and conferences in 1992. The first achievement was the organization of the European Gastroenterology Association workshop (ESGE) with the first ever live parallel video feed from several endoscopic operating rooms. The largest event he organized was the prestigious international medical congress UEGW 2004 (United European Gastroenterology Week), which attracted almost 10.000 delegates from 60 countries to Prague. Prof. Špičák was also the President of the Congress.

"I see a significant shift in terms of acquiring congresses to destination over the past 20 years. Previously, the acquisition and organization of the events were quite amateurish. Nowadays, there is a structure of convention companies and agencies providing professional logistics around each scientific community. To collaborate with a professional agency that guarantees not only a top quality presentation during the candidacy, but, subsequently, also the organization of the events on the professional level is absolutely essential.” says prof. Špičák, and he adds: "The key factors behind the successful candidacy are then the applicant's personality, credibility and reputation in the scientific community, and the applicant's professional achievements acknowledged by the community. The scientific content of the conference, renowned names of the keynote speakers, and last but not least, an attractive destination follow in the list."

The event primarily aims to motivate potential and existing ambassadors to candidate for international congresses to Prague and to encourage its participants in their efforts and activities.

With practical information regarding specific candidacy support contributed: Zdeněk Giormani, Director of the Czech Convention Bureau, and Roman Muška, Director of the Prague Convention Bureau. New trends in the congress organization and factors influencing the choice of destination were mentioned during the final discussion of participants and guests.
