Dresden Was Brimming With Kidney Specialists
We organized a major conference in Germany from September 26th to 29th: the 44th EDTNA/ERCA International Conference held by the European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association.
On this occasion in Dresden, an exchange of valuable information and experience took place among 883 specialists including specialists in health care, academics, patient representatives and industry partners from a total of 41 countries. The main topics of this year's conference was the quality and safety of renal treatment. Delegates were able to hear interesting lectures by prominent speakers such as Professor Andrzej Wiecek (Medical University of Silesia in Katowice), who introduced the state of nephrology in Europe. Another interesting speaker, Professor Rob Beelen (Utrecht University) gave a lecture on peritoneal dialysis and Mrs. Jutta Balhorn (former President of EDTNA/ERCA), spoke about the growing demands on renal nurses and medical personnel dealing with stress.
During the opening ceremony there was a moment of nephrology transformed into art, thanks to the Light Art performance of Alex Dowis, titled the Art of Nephrology.
