KMINE 2017: Congress on Microbiology, Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases in Prague
From October 25th to 27th, the Congress on Clinical Microbiology, Infectious Disease and Epidemiology – KMINE 2017 took place at the City Conference Centre in Prague.
This is an interdisciplinary Congress which is held every two years in various cities within the Czech Republic. The professional guarantors of these events are three companies ČLS JEP: Society for Medical Microbiology (SLM), Society of Infectious Medicine (SIL) and Society for Epidemiology and Microbiology (SEM), whose common interest centers around quality diagnostics, therapy and prevention of infectious diseases. This year’s Congress was organized by the Committee of SEM.
KMINE 2017 aimed to create ambience for a useful and pleasant meeting of infectious disease experts. This is what the organizer achieved thanks to a high-quality professional program focused on microbiology, infectious medicine, and epidemiology.
MUDr. Pavla Křížková, CSc. summed up what all participants of this year’s event could learn: “The core themes of KMINE 2017 were: the cross-border threats of infectious disease and the possibility of their control; emerging infectious disease; health-care associated infections and their preventions; anti-infectives and resistance; infectious disease by preventive vaccination, HIV/AIDS, STD, viral hepatitis; advances in fast microbiological diagnostics and industry news.”
